HELICOPTER TRAINING SYLLABUS
HELICOPTER TRAINING-IT’S EASIER IF YOU ARE PREPARED AND BEING PREPARED CAN SAVE YOU
MONEY
Study and preparation guide for people busy or starting with an initial helicopter
license
Harry started his flying career at the age of 19 years straight after leaving school.
He qualified as a helicopter pilot in the military in 1989. He served in the military
for seven years before joining a police service again as a helicopter pilot for just
on a year. He was then given the opportunity to fly both helicopters and fixed wing
for a corporate company where he served for a period of five years. It was during
this period when he qualified as a helicopter instructor and started giving instruction
on a freelance basis.
Wishing to expand his aviation career and knowledge he joined a regional airline
for a period of eight years flying medium jet airliners. During this period he managed
a helicopter flying school on a part time basis. Realizing his passion for helicopter
flying and instruction he pursued running his helicopter flying school on a full
time basis.
It is Harry’s believe that the art of helicopter flying requires more than teaching
students just the conventional syllabus but rather to convey aviation knowledge built
up over years of experience. They say in aviation to gain twenty years of aviation
knowledge you have to fly for twenty years. Harry’s e-Book is based on this philosophy
and he is continuously trying to improve and expand the information contained in
the book.
In Harry’s opinion experience and knowledge is not necessarily based just on flying
hours accumulated but during his 12000 hours flown he does think he possess some
aviation knowledge to convey to students.
In my opinion giving instruction shouldn’t be about finding faults and pointing out
those faults to a student but rather trying to establish WHY a student is making
certain mistakes. My eBook is based on this principle of trying to capture and build
up a knowledge base over many years and as many students to be able to help and prepare
current and future helicopter students on common mistakes made during the helicopter
private pilot course.
Happy and safe flying
